The limited early-harvest edition of our retail partner’s Umbrian label, made once a year and sold until it runs out. Organic Leccino and Frantoio are hand-picked in late September while still intensely green and cold-pressed within hours. Deep green, with cut grass, artichoke and green almond on the nose and an intensely peppery, pungent palate that the producer describes as balanced rather than harsh. The producer states polyphenols at more than double the EU 432/2012 threshold; no figure is published.

Where it's from
Picking in late September in Umbria is early even by the region’s standards. It costs yield and buys the green, high-polyphenol style — the same trade every early-harvest producer in the library makes.
