Balcón del Guadalquivir
The San Felipe Apóstol cooperative at Baeza, constituted at the end of the 1950s with about a hundred growers and now around five hundred. The name comes from its old site by the town’s watchtower, looking out over the Guadalquivir valley.

The estate
Member groves cover roughly 2,100 hectares of La Loma around Baeza, in the upper Guadalquivir valley. The cooperative publishes conflicting tree counts — 200,000 on one page, 240,000 on another — and does not state its cultivar, though retailers and trade press describe the oil as Picual.
It moved to new facilities in 2004–05 with machinery sized so that the entire day’s harvest can be milled the same day. The plant includes a large bodega, its own bottling line, a pitting machine and a wash-water treatment plant.
