Goya en España
The Spanish arm of the American Goya group, incorporated in 1974 at Alcalá de Guadaíra outside Seville. It owns no groves: its oils are built by a tasting panel from supplier samples — roughly two thousand a season, of which fewer than a hundred make the final blends.

The estate
The Alcalá de Guadaíra site began as a processing and bottling plant for oil and table olives, gained a dedicated olive factory in 1985 and was rebuilt as an integrated plant in 1998. Oil is held under controlled atmosphere and temperature, and finished bottles are nitrogen-flushed.
Output is around four million kilos of olive oil and as much again in olives and capers a year, almost all of it exported. Goya publishes no polyphenol figures, no acidity and no harvest years — which is worth knowing before comparing its numbers with an estate’s, because there are none to compare.
