The estate
The cooperative runs its own mill on the Priego–Luque road and bottles four labels: El Empiedro, the organic BioEmpiedro, Bajondillo and Prados de Olivo. Its production manager, Antonio Jesús Mérida Jiménez, has been named Spain’s best mill master by the AEMO.
El Empiedro took first prize in the sweet green fruity class at the Alimentos de España awards for 2023/24. Mill technology, storage, harvest window and grove altitude are not published, and the cooperative gives no polyphenol or acidity figures.
