Laconiko
Diamantis and Dino Pierrakos, fourth generation, bottled their first batch in January 2009 from the family’s 5,000 Koroneiki trees at Skala, a few metres from the sea where the Evrotas meets the Laconian Gulf, inside a Natura 2000 area. The brand is run from Virginia and sells chiefly in the United States, which is why its medal list is so long at NYIOOC; in 2025 Athena gave the estate oil Double Gold, Best of Greece and Best Koroneiki in the world, all in the competition’s published results. Whether the mill is the family’s own is not stated.

The estate
Early harvest in November; fruit is “crushed at the olive mill every evening”. Hectares are not published. Besides the Koroneiki there is a Kalamon oil, Zoi, and an olio nuovo, both Athena Golds in 2026.
The producer’s blog reports two Golds and two Silvers at NYIOOC 2025 for the range without saying which oil took which, and “12 awards” in 2026; neither could be read on the competition’s own site, so they are listed as the producer states them.
