Laconiko Extra Virgin
The Pierrakos brothers’ estate oil from 5,000 Koroneiki trees a few metres from the sea at Skala, picked green in November and sold under the family name since 2009. Grassy and artichoke-led with a smooth start and a peppery finish, by the producer, which also gives about 578 mg/kg polyphenols and 0.17% free acidity without naming the method. Athena’s 2025 published results gave it Double Gold, Best of Greece and Best Koroneiki in the world; the producer reports two Golds and two Silvers at NYIOOC 2025 for the range without saying which oil took which. Neither Athena nor the producer states an intensity class.

Where it's from
Skala lies where the Evrotas reaches the Laconian Gulf, in a Natura 2000 wetland; the groves are flat, coastal and sandy, unusual for Greek Koroneiki.
