Chrisopigi PDO Sitia
Eastern Crete’s entry: a family Koroneiki from Chrisopigi, a village at 400 metres in the Sitia hills, milled by the family and bottled under PDO Sitia Lasithiou Kritis. Its moment was 2017, when NYIOOC gave it Gold and Best in Class for the variety, listing it as medium; the recent record is a Bronze at Athena 2025. The producer states an EU 432/2012 health claim without printing a figure, and gives free acidity as 0.1–0.3%, with a laboratory result of 0.25% from November 2025. “Rich and fruity”, in its own two words.

Where it's from
Sitia, at the eastern tip of Crete, has its own PDO; the groves are drier and higher than Chania’s, and the oils tend to be fruitier and softer.
