The only Chinese oil in the top forty of the World’s Best Olive Oils 2025/26, at eleventh with 195 points. It is Italian Coratina grown in the Bailong river valley of southern Gansu — and beyond that, almost nothing about it is published in any language we could read.

Longnan is China’s olive belt — a warm, sheltered river valley in an otherwise continental province, planted with Italian and Spanish cultivars from the 1970s onward. It is now the largest olive-growing area in the country.
