The World's Best Olive Oils ranking is compiled by the World Ranking EVOO project from the results of the international competitions it tracks over a season. An oil earns points for each medal or placing it collects, and the table is the season's running total. It rewards oils that are entered widely and win repeatedly, which is a different thing from a single blind tasting — and it is not our panel.
Ranks 1 to 41 are ordered by points. Everything from 42 down shares 100 points and is one flat tier in the source table; we list it alphabetically by producer, as the competition does, and give it no further order.
Names are the competition's own, lightly normalised. Where the competition and the producer disagree about a product's name — Virrey del Pino "Selección", Cetrone "In", Opera Nostra "Campania IGP" — the library page says so.
